COVID-19: ações/iniciativas de I&I na União Europeia

Nos últimos dias têm sido divulgadas várias ações/iniciativas de investigação e inovação promovidas ou apoiadas pela Comissão Europeia no âmbito da resposta à pandemia de COVID-19.

Para melhor orientação, deixamos de seguida um sumário das ações/iniciativas mais relevantes:

 

·       “ERAvsCorona" Action plan - the European Commission launched the first 10 priority actions for the short-term coordinated R&I response to covid-19. This document will be updated regularly by the Commission services and national administrations with other R&I coordinated actions that can be taken in the short, medium and longer term.

 

·       European Research Area (ERA) corona platform - this dedicated space on the Funding & tenders portal provides information regarding related research and innovation actions, but also updates regarding the extension of certain call deadlines due to the outbreak, and new Horizon 2020 FAQs in relation to project implementation and management during the pandemic.

 

·       COVID-19 Portal - EMBL-EBI has set up the COVID-19 Portal, which will bring together relevant datasets submitted to EMBL-EBI and other major centres for biomedical data. The aim is to facilitate data sharing and analysis, and to accelerate coronavirus research.

 

·       EUvsVirus Hackathon - the European Commission, in close collaboration with EU member states, will host a pan-European hackathon to connect civil society, innovators, partners and buyers across Europe to develop innovative solutions to overcome coronavirus-related challenges.

 

·       COVID-19 Clinical Management Support System (COVID-19 -CMSS) - web conferencing support system for the clinical management of COVID-19 patients, (COVID19-CMSS), is created to support clinicians and healthcare professionals dealing with the care and management of COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the EU/UK and EEA countries.

 

·       Research Infrastructures and COVID-19 Research - In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, several research infrastructures (RIs) have set up specific services, such as rapid or fast track access, to allow researchers to obtain results as soon as possible. To facilitate their use by researchers, we would like to collect the relevant information about the initiatives on a dedicated website.

 

·       Care & Industry against CORONA – this European platform brings together all of the different actors in Europe offering the opportunity to make targeted and time-efficient contacts with all actors in healthcare, industry, academia and government.

 

·       Pan-European Privacy-Preserving Proximity Tracing (PEPP_PT) – this technology aims to assist national initiatives by supplying ready-to-use, well-tested, and properly assessed mechanisms and standards, as well as support for interoperability, outreach, and operation when needed.

 

·       Recommendation to support exit strategies through mobile data and apps - Commission adopts steps and measures to develop a common EU approach for the use of mobile applications and mobile data in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
