Seminar
Solar Process Heat in Industry: Technologies, Applications, Research

“Solar Process Heat in Industry: Technologies, Applications, Research” is the seminar of the project Integrating National Research Agendas on Solar Heat for Industrial Processes (INSHIP), which will take place on February 7th, at the headquarters of the Order of Engineers, in Lisbon.

The Renewable Energies Chair, from the University of Évora (CER-UÉ), a partner in the INSHIP project, is one of the organizers of this seminar, together with the Order of Engineers (OE) and the General Directorate of Energy and Geology (DGEG), which aims to bring together researchers, policy makers, financing entities and industries, and promote debate in the area of renewable energy.

The initiative will include interventions on the contribution of renewables to achieve the goals of the National Energy and Climate Plan (PNEC 2030) and the Roadmap for Carbon Neutrality (RNC 2050), the Intensive Energy Consumption Management System (SGCIE) as a management process and an energy efficiency tool, and on strategies, examples and difficulties in applying solar process heat to industry in Portugal, as well as presentation of research topics and results from the INSHIP project. The program will end with the signing of a collaboration protocol between DGEG and OE.

The INSHIP project is an initiative led by Fraunhofer ISE, funded by the European Commission's H2020 program, which brings together 28 partners from 10 countries (Germany, Austria, Cyprus, Spain, France , Greece), Italy, Portugal, United Kingdom, Switzerland and Turkey), and seeks to establish connection lines between and looks for connecting lines between universities and research units in these countries towards the definition of a common agenda for research on solar heating in industrial processes.
