Cloud radiation interactions (on shortwave spectral range) are determined by cloud properties as the cloud optical thickness, effective radius, liquid/ice water path and cloud droplet number concentration. Results of cloud properties retrievals over Évora region and Azores using remote sensing techniques based on ground-based and satellite measurements will be presented. The relation between the retrieved properties and their effects on shortwave radiation measured at the surface is also presented, as well the seasonal and annual variability of the shortwave cloud radiative forcing in Évora during 2003-10.
